Overview | Junior Program

Curiosity In Action
When you're ten years old, there's lots of stuff you haven't done yet. So why not try some of those things -- or maybe all of those things -- this summer?

A Summer of Firsts
Make your first website. Make your first Italian feast. Make your first friend from another state (or another country). Whether you're local or international, a 4th grader or a 7th grader, a summer at Explo is a summer of firsts -- a summer of trying new things. We want you to explore!

And with courses in hovercraft science, stop-motion animation, and cryptozoology, trips to Fenway Park, the Blue Man Group, and Mount Monadnock, and activities like tie-dying, frisbee, and marshmallow building construction, there's plenty here that will capture your imagination.

Explo's Supportive Environment
Our residential program offers kids a first chance to be away from home . . . and in the process, learn how to make choices for themselves. Our day program is unique in that it offers students the chance to learn hip-hop dance, go rock-climbing, and eat lunch with a student from Shanghai . . . before going home at night to their own bed (or, if they like, staying over for the night with us).

There are so many things for you to do at Explo -- but if there's one thing you get out of the Program, it's the idea that it's important to try new things. Come learn to explore with us!

If you had to pick one favorite thing about Explo, what would it be? Making new friends. At school, your friends are all from where you live, but at Explo you can meet people from anywhere, like Korea.

What is it that keeps bringing you back? I think it’s just fun to meet new people and try all these new things. Like, I just went skydiving, which I thought was awesome!

How is the food at Explo? The food is awesome! There’s a variety of stuff. There’s pasta everyday . . . along with some stuff that I’ve never heard of before . . . and it has all been really good.
