Our leadership team
The magic starts at the top.
Moira joined EXPLO in 1985, started the program for Grades 4–7, and has served as President since 2007. She’s deeply interested in transdisciplinary teaching and learning, student agency, cultivating creativity, and bringing humanity and joy into learning environments. Outside of EXPLO, Moira is the Associate Producer + Director of Educational Outreach for the Commission on Presidential Debates and serves on the National Advisory Board for Bowdoin College Admissions. She was also tapped as one of the non-profit leaders to participate in the Open Leadership Camp hosted by the MIT Media Lab and Mozilla.
An honors graduate of Bowdoin College, Moira earned her J.D. at Boston University School of Law and first-class honors in law at the National University of Ireland, Galway. She is also a Thomas J. Watson Fellow (Canada) and a Rotary Foundation Fellow (England). In her free time, Moira enjoys creating, building, and gardening — almost as much as she loves education.
Amy joined us as Business Manager/CFO over eight years ago. Amy is a detail-oriented problem-solver who, simply put, gets things done. She’s combined these skills with her financial expertise to drive EXPLO’s mission forward. Amy’s early career was highlighted by positions at Price Waterhouse and United Asset Management. Amy and her husband dipped their toes into the entrepreneurial waters when they became early franchisees of a fast-casual salad restaurant where she took on responsibility for all aspects of accounting, finance, and human resources. After selling the restaurant, she became CFO at staffing agency Resource Options.
Amy earned her BS in Accounting at the Grossman School of Business at the University of Vermont. Outside of work, Amy loves to play tennis and spend time with her family, including her dog, Cooper, who can often be found at EXPLO’s headquarters.
Robin spent her first two years as an undergrad at the University of Vermont immersing herself in art classes before the siren call of business pulled her from the studio. She went on to earn her MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern, but has never left behind her belief in the power of art.
Robin has combined her talents in business, strategy, and passion for creating compelling brand experiences to build an impressive career. She came to EXPLO from Babson College where she was Senior Director of Enrollment and Digital Marketing for all of the College’s divisions. Before that she was Director of Marketing for the Museum of Science, Vice-President of K12 Marketing at Pearson, Vice President for Marketing at the Princeton Review, and a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. The proud parent of two children and a large Maine Coon cat, Robin is known for her seemingly unending stash of extraordinary chocolate.
Greg started his EXPLO journey as a student at what were then called the Intermediate and Senior programs in 1993 and 1994. His career as a staff member started at the Junior Program in 1999, while he was an undergraduate. Since that time, he has served as Assistant Director of Programing, Associate Dean of Students, and Dean of Students when the Senior Program was housed at Yale University, and after coming to work at EXPLO full-time in 2022, he served as Dean of Studies for our Intermediate Program for two summers. Most recently, Greg created and ran a new EXPLO program at UC Berkeley in 2024, focused on career exploration and academic partnerships.
A strong believer in the importance of cultivating curiosity in students, Greg has been involved in the world of education for more than two decades. Before coming to EXPLO full-time, he served on the faculty of the Ransom Everglades School in Miami, FL for 13 years. There, he was the Dean of Studies, also teaching classes including The U.S. Criminal Justice System, The Roots and Legacy of 9/11, AP U.S. Government, AP Comparative Government, and others. Greg has also served as Dean at Oxbridge Academic Programs at Cambridge University in England, and he has taught U.S. Government at Suffolk University. After graduating with a B.A. in Political Science from Brown University, Greg started his teaching career as a member of the History faculty at Avon Old Farms, a boarding school in Connecticut. He then went on to earn his J.D. at the University of Pennsylvania Law School before deciding to return to the world of education.
