Game Theory Workshop

Game Theory
Use chance, variance, and good old-fashioned math to outthink your opponents – from the game table to everyday life.
Games are fun, but game theory is more than just fun and games. Blending math with strategic thinking, game theory helps you analyze situations where outcomes depend not just on chance, but on the choices of others. In this workshop, you’ll build analytic skills to combine experience with theory in all sorts of situations, from strategic board games like Diplomacy to probabilistic games like poker. Start by playing the games to learn the rules, then discover how to hack them with game theory. Finally, put your newfound skills and insights to the test in games against your friends.

What you'll do

The Art of Negotiation
Calculate the proper time to concede during a negotiation and the right time to betray an opponent by playing games and simulations based around the "prisoner’s dilemma."

The Science of Calculation
Use math to model the future, measuring the probabilities and expected value of certain strategies and the corresponding variance.

The Power of Simulation
Use game theory and strategy to navigate real-world challenges—like managing resources, building alliances, or responding to crises. Through interactive simulations, test your decisions in dynamic environments and discover how logic, risk, and human behavior shape outcomes.
