Wilderness First Aid + Survival
About this Workshop
Campus: Regis College | Rising Grades: 6,7
Have you ever wanted to climb Everest, float the Amazon, reach the South Pole, hike or ski in the backcountry, or just go camping in a nearby forest? What would happen if your plane went down in the Andes, your ship hit a storm and sank, or you went exploring a cave and a monsoon hit? To be an explorer, you have to be prepared for anything that could happen. Humans can endure far more than you could imagine, surviving in seemingly impossible conditions. As you navigate new terrain and new challenges, learn how to purify water and forage for food. Build a shelter with materials you have on hand. Practice emergency rescues and learn how to treat wounds and diseases. This adventure is not for the faint of heart—you’ll do what it takes to survive, learning to endure new challenges in the wild.
